Right, first things first. There is such a thing as a 'workgasm'. I have had one and I’m sure I’m not the only one. What exactly is a workgasm, I hear you say? Well, I didn’t hear you say that, but I believe you are questioning the natural order of things and this is against the natural order of what’s right and what’s wrong.
A workgasm is a moment of bliss when doing your job. When you reach that moment of ‘professional release.' That’s not a dictionary description. I’m fairly certain that this isn’t in the dictionary. I’m also fairly certain that I haven’t had any phone calls from the 'word dudes' asking for my permission to use this phrase. I also haven’t heard anyone else actually use this word so I’m kinda out there on this one folks.
I come up with a lot of things and sometimes they make sense but, often they don’t. Make what you will of this one. I plan on continuing to use it whether people like it or not.
Like most of you, I have been keeping up with the international news. I don’t plan on talking about ISIL, ISUY, or whatever those goons in the Middle East are calling themselves these days, but I will say it’s great that Australia is so committed to keeping foreigners out of Australia that they are going to travel to the Middle East and kill them before they can even try to come to the great southern continent. That’s what you call some forward, proactive thinking right there.
That wasn’t what I was planning on talking about, but I got a little bit sidetracked. What I wanted to mention next was this issue that has been raised by Irish rock band, U2. They recently gave or donated their entire new album, "Songs of Innocence" online. Now you would think this would be a brilliant thing, I mean giving an entire album by a reputable band like U2? This should be seen as a great thing, should it not? No, that is not the case. There are haters out there, unfortunately. It’s sad but true and the haters want to spew about how unfair it is that they have to deal with free music.
I will give them this. From what I’ve heard about this issue, the songs are automatically downloaded onto your Apple device. I don’t know too much about Apple products these days, so I can’t say too much. It’s been a few years since I had any kind of Apple device, but I wasn’t a fan of iPod, I will say, and dropped that device out of sheer annoyance with it. But that was a long time ago.
Music to me is a thing of beauty. I love music, live my life by the rhythm of it and I definitely think U2 is an awesome band and if they decide to give away some of their hard work for nothing then instead of criticism, I think gratitude should be given. But some of you may have differing views and, as always I welcome your feedback. Please feel free to let me know what you think on this.
What I found most surprising is the ranting of celebrities as one started to attack the band personally, describing them as ‘middle-aged politicians,’ which is weird and uncalled for in my opinion. I guess people will come to their own conclusions, but such whining and hatred because someone decided to give something away for free? I think the only issue of not is the fact that you don’t get to choose for a download, you just get a download, which I suppose could be annoying.
Ah well. In any case my rant is over. You know where to send the complaints!
Cheers.
